I am proud that the Conservative Party – through the Private Member’s Bill of James Wharton MP, which is receiving its Second Reading in the House of Commons today – will, finally, give the British people the opportunity to have their say over our future relationship with the European Union by setting out in statute that, if the Conservatives win the 2015 General Election, we WILL hold a national referendum on our EU membership, by 2017 at the latest.
